What is Shungite?

Shungite is a rare, carbon-based mineral found primarily in the Karelian region of Russia. Dating back over two billion years, it is believed to have formed from organic matter deposited in ancient sea beds and subjected to intense pressure and heat over millennia. Renowned for its high carbon content and unique molecular structure, Shungite exhibits remarkable properties that set it apart from other minerals.

Regular Shungite

Also known as Type I or raw Shungite, this variety is the most common and widely available.

It typically has a matte black appearance and contains approximately 30-50% carbon.

Regular Shungite is revered for its water purification properties and is often used in water filters and purification systems.

Elite Shungite

Also referred to as Type II or noble Shungite, Elite Shungite is the rarest and highest grade of Shungite.

It is distinguished by its distinctive silver-gray metallic luster and contains up to 98% carbon.

Elite Shungite is prized for its potent healing and purifying properties, making it highly sought after for personal and environmental use.

Petrovsky Shungite

Petrovsky Shungite, named after the village of Petrovskoye where it is found, is a type of Shungite that falls between regular and Elite Shungite in terms of carbon content.

It typically contains around 50-70% carbon and exhibits a shiny black appearance.

Petrovsky Shungite shares many of the properties of Elite Shungite and is often used for water purification and EMF protection.

"Petrovsky Shungite, with its balance of potency and versatility, serves as a bridge between the ancient wisdom of regular Shungite and the transformative power of Elite Shungite." - Valery Uvarov, "Shungite: Nature's Healing Gift"
